The Best and Worst Blogs I Explored
Blogs exist in all shapes and sizes, ranging from professional to personal lifestyle entry's. Some are enjoyable to read and simple to understand, while others can be crowded and overwhelming. So after doing a decent amount of browsing I found two very different blogs, one which I absolutely loved and one which irritated me no end.
My favorite blog was Cup of Jo. This life- tyle blog it is warm and conversational for the family, relationship and style topics that it goes over. the way that its written is a friendly and inviting conversation almost like they are a friend. It has a clean layout, with posts divided into easy to find categories. I also liked the relevant photos that combined with the content and made the posts easy on the eyes made me stay longer rather then immediately click off, really caught my attention.
On the other hand, Perez Hilton was the one I liked the least. This blog is all about celebrity news, but the web site has a bunch of add and overwhelming about of different colors. The content within is sensational and flamboyant, which suits the purpose of entertaining readers, but it made taking the site seriously more difficult. Instead of wanting to stay and read everything the site has to offer, I just want to click off because of cluttered and distracting the rest of the website is.
Comparing these two blogs side by side showed me how much design, tone and layout matter when it comes to enjoying a blog. I return to a streamlined design and friendly writing voice, this exercise helped me get a sense of what makes blogs successful — and what makes them crash and burn.
Yes i personally dislike a lot of ads on a page myself. Your also right about the cup of jo blog being warm i like that one a lot too.
